Used business jet inventory has been declining for months. Sandhills Global’s aviation market report, covering data through June 2026 and reported by Aviation International News, shows inventory down across nearly every category of pre-owned aircraft. Below is the data as reported, by category.
Pre-Owned Jets
- Overall jet inventory: down 0.15% month over month, down 19.21% year over year.
- Jet asking prices: down 2.28% month over month, down 4.48% year over year.
- Large-jet inventory specifically: down 40% year over year, the steepest decline of any category tracked.
For comparison, Sandhills Global’s April 2026 report showed jet inventory down 7.73% year over year at that point, with the large-jet segment down 21.7% year over year and asking prices for large jets down 3.33% year over year. Controller Sales Manager Terrin Mohl said at the time: “Used jet inventory levels are lower than they have been in a long time.”
Jefferies research on the bizjet segment specifically found available inventory down 11% year over year overall, and down 37% year over year for younger models.
Asking Prices by Jet Size
Inventory and asking price don’t always move together, and they don’t always move together within the same category either. The category with the steepest inventory drop isn’t necessarily the one with the steepest price drop. Within the June 2026 report:
- Light jets: asking prices down 3.65% month over month, the largest monthly asking-price change of any jet category.
- Super-midsize jets: asking prices down 4.4% month over month.
- Midsize jets: asking prices down 6.54% year over year, the largest annual asking-price decline of any jet category.
For comparison, large-jet inventory posted the steepest annual decline in raw supply, down 40% year over year, as noted above. That’s a different measure than asking price, and the two don’t point to the same category.
Turboprops
- Turboprop inventory: down 5.15% month over month, down 13.67% year over year. This is the seventh consecutive month of year-over-year decline.
- Turboprop asking prices: up 3.12% month over month, up 3.32% year over year.
Single-Engine Pistons
- Piston-single inventory: up 2.48% month over month, down 14.08% year over year.
- Piston-single asking prices: down 0.61% month over month, down 0.74% year over year.
Piston Helicopters
- Robinson piston helicopter inventory: down 7.45% month over month, down 17.14% year over year.
- Robinson piston helicopter asking prices: down 3.14% month over month, up 3.05% year over year.
